Job Description\

As a Senior DevOps Observability Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in steering the future direction of Observability. Your expertise will be instrumental in integrating OpenTelemetry into software applications and building an Observability Platform as part of our DevOps Tooling and Capabilities.

This position requires close collaboration with Observability and DevOps Engineers to design, build, deploy, and maintain an Observability solution aligned with our IT strategy and vision. You will work across application teams to integrate the Observability solution into delivery pipelines and application codebases.

\Responsibilities\
  • Designing and implementing an Observability solution that meets our strategic DevOps practices
  • Integrating Observability solutions into delivery pipelines and application codebases
  • Communicating with governance streams to ensure adherence to process, quality, and architectural design
  • Delivering against both Functional and Non-functional requirements
  • Taking ownership and accountability for key features and driving them to completion
  • Communicating progress and identifying impediments early to minimize impact on delivery
  • Participating in incident management to rectify production defects based on criticality and severity
  • Guiding and supporting team implementation and adherence to Change Control principles
  • Ensuring inter-project dependencies and project risks are understood and managed
  • Collaborating with architecture to guide software solutions

You will have hands-on experience with deploying and managing AWS resources, as well as full-stack software engineering using languages such as Java, C#, TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, and PowerShell. Experience with Application Lifecycle Management Tools and technologies, including Source Code Management, Git, DevOps platforms, Gitlab, TeamCity, Sonatype Nexus, is also essential.

  • Cloud Technologies and concepts preferably on AWS or Azure/GCP etc.
  • Dev(Sec)Ops automation and minimization of delivery times from Development to Production
  • Containerization to aid deployability, testing, and loose coupling
  • Agile exponent to speed up delivery, reduce risk, and provide maximum value to end-users
