XMPie Template Developer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled XMPie template developer to create high-quality, variable data print (VDP) and cross-media marketing templates using XMPie software. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing complex personalization rules, conditional logic, and dynamic content blocks.

">Key Responsibilities:
  • Create XMPie uDirect, uCreate, and uProduce templates according to specifications provided through the ticket management system
  • Develop variable data templates for print, email, web, and mobile channels
  • Implement complex personalization rules, conditional logic, and dynamic content blocks
  • Build and configure ADOR (Automatic Dynamic Output Rules) for multi-channel campaigns
  • Set up data mappings between templates and customer databases or data sources
  • Process incoming tickets and interpret technical requirements, mockups, and brand guidelines
  • Configure variable elements including text, images, barcodes, QR codes, and charts
  • Create and maintain reusable asset libraries and template components
  • Ensure proper color management and print specifications for production-ready files
  • Perform thorough testing of all personalization logic and variable elements
  • Generate proof sets and conduct pre-flight checks before template release
  • Validate data merge accuracy and output across different channels
  • Troubleshoot template issues and resolve technical problems
  • Document template specifications and maintain version control
  • Monitor and prioritize tickets based on deadlines and business requirements
  • Communicate with project managers, designers, and stakeholders regarding ticket status
  • Provide time estimates for template creation and revisions
  • Maintain accurate ticket documentation and status updates
  • Collaborate with IT teams on data integration and API connections
Required Skills and Qualifications:Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in XMPie software suite (uDirect, uCreate, uProduce, Circle)
  • Strong understanding of variable data printing concepts and workflows
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • Understanding of database concepts and data file formats (CSV, XML, JSON)
  • Familiarity with SQL queries and data manipulation
Professional Experience
  • 2+ years of experience creating XMPie templates or similar VDP solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to work with ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira, or similar)
  • Experience in print production, prepress, or marketing automation environments

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in technical work
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and logical thinking
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Capacity to interpret creative briefs and technical specifications
Preferred Qualifications
  • XMPie certification or advanced training
  • Experience with other VDP platforms (Fusion Pro, PrintShop Mail, etc.)
  • Knowledge of postal regulations and mailing requirements
  • Understanding of marketing automation and customer journey mapping
  • Familiarity with REST APIs and web services
  • Experience with version control systems (Git)
  • Background in graphic design or marketing
