Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing electrical construction drawings, performing detailed quantity takeoffs, and compiling accurate material and labor estimates for electrical projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review electrical plans, specifications, and addenda to fully understand project scope and objectives.
  • Perform thorough electrical quantity takeoffs for devices, wiring, conduits, panels, switchgear, lighting, and other systems.
  • Utilize digital takeoff tools to accurately measure and quantify materials needed.
  • Presentation of organized takeoff sheets and data to the estimating team is a crucial aspect of this role.
  • Collaboration with senior estimators to clarify scope and resolve any drawing discrepancies.
  • Maintenance of project takeoff files, including tracking updates and revisions.
  • Integration of vendor quotes and revised quantities into estimating workbooks.

Required Qualifications:

  • Licensed Electrical Engineer qualification is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical estimating, takeoffs, or drafting is required.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, and installation methods is essential.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, one-line diagrams, and panel schedules is necessary.
  • Experience with digital takeoff software is preferred but not necessary.
  • Excellent English communication skills are required.
  • A high level of attention to detail and ability to work independently are expected.
