Job Description:

  • The Energy Market Specialist is responsible for managing the electricity output of generation assets into the wholesale market and/or directly to customers. This involves bidding on an hourly, day-ahead, week-ahead, and real-time basis, ensuring alignment with the overall strategy approved by senior management.
  • The specialist must work closely with the trading team to analyze market data, competitive offers, and client business processes to make informed decisions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, or a 4-year business course
  • At least 2 years' experience in the power industry, preferably in electricity trading (fresh graduates may also be considered)
  • Knowledge of the wholesale market and client business processes
  • Analytical skills for competitive market behavior analysis
  • Knowledge of market data and competitive offers
  • Strong computer skills
