Technical Drafter Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Technical Drafter with specialized experience in furniture production to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming concepts and specifications into precise technical drawings that guide the fabrication and assembly of custom furniture products.

You will work closely with engineers, designers, and production staff to ensure that all technical documentation meets both aesthetic and functional standards. This includes creating detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings and schematics using AutoCAD or similar CAD software, translating design concepts and sketches into fully dimensioned production-ready technical documents, preparing exploded views, assembly instructions, and component lists to support fabrication and installation processes, and maintaining organized documentation of all revisions, drawings, and technical records.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in drafting, deep knowledge of materials and construction methods used in furniture making, and the ability to work efficiently in a collaborative, remote environment. You will also need to have proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, SolidWorks, Revit, or other drafting/CAD software, and the ability to interpret architectural and design drawings and translate them into shop drawings.
