Legal Support Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Legal Support Specialist to join our team and support our U.S.-based legal clients. As a key member of our legal services team, you will play a vital role in drafting and reviewing legal documents, conducting research, and providing administrative support to attorneys and legal teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft and review various legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and correspondence
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis, staying up-to-date with relevant case law and regulations
  • Prepare detailed summaries of cases and assist in trial preparations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of results
  • Organize and maintain client files and case management systems, adhering to strict confidentiality and data protection protocols
  • Communicate effectively with clients, courts, and third parties, both verbally and in writing, demonstrating exceptional professionalism and courtesy
  • Provide general administrative support to attorneys and legal teams, streamlining workflows and enhancing productivity

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Legal Management, or a related field, preferably from a reputable institution
  • At least two years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant, with a strong background in U.S. law preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling documents and engage with clients professionally
  • Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw) and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace, with expertise in case management software an asset
  • Exceptional attention to detail, proactive approach, and ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining high-quality output
  • Comfortable working remotely and independently, with excellent time management and self-motivation skills

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with U.S. legal systems and court procedures, with knowledge of industry-specific software and tools beneficial
  • Experience using legal software (e.g., Clio, MyCase, PracticePanther) and willingness to learn new systems and technologies
  • Knowledge in areas such as litigation, corporate law, immigration, or family law, with expertise in these fields an asset
