Job Title: Real Estate Bookkeeper

We are seeking a detail-oriented individual with proficiency in accounting software to manage financial records, reconcile accounts, and support property management operations. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in real estate finance and a proactive approach to financial accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage accurate financial records for multiple properties using AppFolio.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, including vendor bills and tenant payments.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, trust accounts, and credit card statements monthly.
  • Prepare owner statements, financial reports, and draw schedules.
  • Monitor and manage tenant ledgers, security deposits, and lease-related transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and real estate-specific accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with property managers to resolve discrepancies and support audits.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (preferred).
  • CPA or Bookkeeping Certification (a plus).
  • Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in real estate.
  • Proven expertise in AppFolio software (required).
Skills & Tools:
  • Advanced proficiency in AppFolio, QuickBooks, and Excel.
  • Strong understanding of real estate accounting principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Traits:
  • Familiarity with U.S. property management practices.
  • Experience with trust account reconciliation and owner draw processes.
