Job Description

As a seasoned Operations Manager, you will lead with exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will champion a customer-centric approach, ensuring efficient handling of operational activities with a focus on meticulous quality control in import and export processes.

You will work closely with the Operations Manager to enhance operational efficiency and serve as the main point of contact for operations coordinators during escalations.


Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Oversight — Efficiently execute, oversee, and coordinate day-to-day department operations. Equitably distribute workloads, allocate resources, and assign tasks for maximum efficiency. Monitor team performance against KPIs, ensuring operations coordinators meet established goals and standards. Identify improvement areas and implement corrective actions, resolving operational issues promptly. Learn from challenges, applying lessons to maintain updated SOPs, customer playbooks, and documentation templates. Keep the Operations Manager informed on daily department activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics or related field
  • At least 2 years of experience working in a logistics/shipping company in a similar role or 5 years of experience in a similar position
  • Strong leadership acumen, fostering a collaborative team culture and guiding operations coordinators to achieve peak performance
  • Language Skills — Fluent in English and preferably 1 regional language
  • Communication — Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively convey information to suppliers, customers, and internal teams
  • Team Player — Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Attention to Detail — Meticulous in maintaining accurate documentation with a keen eye for identifying errors and discrepancies
  • Problem Solving — Ability to actively engage in problem resolution with a capacity to think critically and propose solutions
