Virtual Accounting Assistant

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Virtual Accounting Assistant to support financial operations and general business tasks.

About the Role:
  • Manage and record financial transactions, process invoices, receipts, and payments, reconcile bank statements and financial records, prepare financial reports and summaries, assist with tax preparation and compliance, maintain accurate bookkeeping records in QuickBooks, Xero, or similar software, handle accounts payable and receivable, compile financial reports and present them to the Finance Director & CEO, assist with knowledge base data management, compile sales tax returns and submit.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Financial Transaction Management: Manage and record financial transactions, including cash inflows and outflows, accounts payable and receivable, and payroll processing.
  2. Bookkeeping and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date bookkeeping records in QuickBooks, Xero, or similar software, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  3. Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, and provide analysis and recommendations for business improvement.
  4. Tax Preparation and Compliance: Assist with tax preparation and compliance, including filing tax returns and handling audits and other issues.
Requirements:
  • 1+ year of experience as a Virtual Assistant, with a focus on bookkeeping/accounting;
  • Minimum 2 years of remote work experience;
  • Proficiency with project management tools like Asana, Trello, or ClickUp;
  • Excellent English communication skills and strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
