Job Title: Global Trade Compliance Specialist

Description

We are seeking a skilled Global Trade Compliance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our compliance team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all import and export transactions are in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Your primary focus will be on performing commodity Harmonized System (HS) tariff classifications, non-preferential Country of Origin determinations, and export classifications under the EAR for various products, parts, and components. You will also review restricted party screening and embargoed country holds, communicate process exceptions and improvement suggestions to the Trade Compliance department, and prepare and organize trade compliance related records and documentation.

In addition, you will support accuracy and help maintain robust global trade compliance data within SAP and other parts lists databases. Your duties will also include handling and monitoring all Import shipments bound to Varex PH, as well as Export shipments out bound from Varex PH.

Responsibilities
  • Perform HS tariff classifications in accordance with applicable customs regulations
  • Determine Country of Origin in accordance with applicable customs regulations
  • Classify exports under the EAR
  • Review restricted party screening and embargoed country holds
  • Communicate process exceptions and improvement suggestions
  • PPrepare and organize trade compliance related records and documentation
  • Maintain global trade compliance data within SAP and other parts lists databases
  • Handle and monitor Import shipments and Export shipments
Requirements
  • Knowledge/experience with WCO Harmonized System for commodity classification
  • Knowledge/experience with WCO non-preferential rules of origin
  • Knowledge/experience with restricted, sanctioned, and embargoed party screening
  • Strong computer skills and English verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work remotely via VPN internet connection
  • Effective team player with ability to work well with cross-functional departments and teams
  • Experience with SAP GTS is helpful
  • Satisfactory combination of education and experience in Customs Administration, International Trade, International Logistics, International Relations, or Business Management
