  • We are seeking a clinical documentation specialist to work closely with our team of eye care specialists. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for accurately documenting patient interactions and medical records.
  • You will attend virtual or in-person consultations, transcribe interactions, and input notes into electronic health record (EHR) systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
  • In addition to documentation, you will manage and organize large volumes of medical files securely on your personal PC.
  • You will also flag and clarify inconsistencies in visual exam documentation and diagnostic data, ensuring the highest level of accuracy.
  • To support our team, you will maintain templates for eye exams, surgical consultations, and follow-ups, streamlining administrative duties.
  • As a clinical documentation specialist, you will play a crucial role in assisting eye care specialists by efficiently managing documentation and related tasks.

 

  • You must own a Windows-operated PC with high-capacity storage to handle large datasets and medical records.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, OneNote) is required for documentation and file tracking.
  • Familiarity with EHR platforms (e.g., Compulink, RevolutionEHR, or similar eye-care systems) is essential.

 

  • Knowledge of ophthalmologic terminology (e.g., refraction, tonometry, fundus exam, etc.) is necessary.
  • Excellent typing speed and attention to clinical detail are required.
  • Prior experience in a scribe or medical transcription role is highly valued.
  • Discretion and ability to maintain patient confidentiality are critical.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.
