Financial Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

The Financial Accountant will report to the Finance Manager and work closely with other members of the finance team to achieve business objectives. Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining general ledger accounts and reconciling bank statements
  • Preparing and submitting tax returns and other statutory filings
  • Assisting with external audits and providing financial information as required
  • Developing and implementing financial procedures and controls
  • Providing financial analysis and recommendations to management
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Degree-level qualification in Accounting or Commerce
  • Certified Accountant or Certified Public Accountant preferred, but not a requirement
  • Minimum 2-4 years' experience in an accounting role, in the profession or commerce
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and standards (AASB/IFRS)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
