We are seeking a highly skilled Roma Education Consultant to support the development of resources and deliver capacity building activities for an EU project.

About the Job

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting an EU/international review of good practices in addressing education segregation for Roma children, developing a capacity building toolkit, and supporting the draft National Roma Education Desegregation Action Plan.

  • EU Review: Undertake an in-depth review of EU/international best practices in addressing education segregation for Roma children, identifying at least 3–5 effective approaches related to whole-school strategies, monitoring, policy development, and community collaboration.
  • Capacity Building Toolkit: Develop a comprehensive toolkit for capacity building of regional and national stakeholders, delivering three trainer sessions and three online sessions for MoEDRY.
  • Project Support: Provide technical expertise to project activities based on the findings of the EU/international review and toolkit, revising the research plan for monitoring Roma education segregation and reviewing the final report with recommendations.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To qualify for this role, you will have:

  • Advanced Degree: In international development, human rights, education, or another relevant social science field.
  • Professional Experience: At least ten years of work experience in education, inclusive education, or inclusion of vulnerable groups in education.
  • Research Expertise: Knowledge and/or experience in conducting or managing research projects.
  • Training Development: Knowledge and/or experience in developing resources/materials for training and delivery of trainings.
  • Inclusive Education: Good knowledge of international/regional framework and trends in inclusive education, including Roma inclusion.
  • Networking and Collaboration: Good networking and collaboration skills.
  • Linguistic Proficiency: Fluent written and spoken English with excellent communication and presentation skills.
