Lead Modeler

The Lead Modeler is a senior modeling position responsible for establishing and enforcing modeling standards, ensuring the quality and accuracy of models.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Producing structural drawings and creating Revit models that meet high-quality standards:
    • Quality checking own work, project, and design modelers
    • Advanced model execution (complex geometry)
    • Model detailing
    • Taking off targets and creating value models
    • Ensuring construction documents are accurately modeled
    • Handling special conditions and complex family creation
    • Presenting considerations on 3D views
    • FOLLOWING BIM content standards and development procedures
  • Executing the Sprint plan:
    • Creating and communicating a plan of approach to stakeholders
    • Understanding and documenting tasks to complete deliverables and estimating hours
    • Committing and executing the plan, reconciling it with the project team as needed
    • Communicating early and often when roadblocks to the plan are identified
    • Balancing multiple deadlines and changing priorities
  • Managing client coordination:
    • Providing proactive and effective communication with clients
    • Collaborating and coordinating with other disciplines' design changes and model challenges
    • Identifying underdeveloped areas in design and providing high-level options for technical leads
    • Understanding client value maps and delivering projects to meet client expectations
  • Participating in continuous improvement activities:
    • Seeking out and participating in continuing education
    • Participating in material groups, updating, and improving standards and best practices
