Embedded Firmware Engineer

Design, develop and test firmware for our embedded systems. You will actively participate in the new product development cycle, including requirements, design, verification, release and documentation.

  • Responsibilities:
  1. Designing, developing and maintaining firmware for microcontrollers (MCUs).
  2. Developing low-level hardware drivers for peripherals such as UART, SPI, I2C, GPIO, DMA, and interrupts.
  3. Crafting and implementing test applications to validate hardware functionality and support manufacturing testing.
  4. Collaborating with hardware engineers during board bring-up to initialize and validate components, troubleshoot system integration and technical issues, and optimize system performance.
  5. Participating in code reviews, debugging, and performance tuning to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  6. Following the best approach in coding, version control, and documentation for firmware releases.
  7. Working with multi-functional teams to define technical requirements and specifications.
  8. Mentoring junior engineers and supporting team development.
  9. Continuously evaluating and suggesting improvements to improve product features, quality, and cost-efficiency.
  10. Staying updated on industry trends, tools, and best practices in embedded firmware development.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in firmware development for embedded systems.
  • Strong understanding of embedded systems architecture and communication protocols (e.g., UART, SPI, I2C, CAN).
  • Proficiency in C/C++ for low-level embedded software development.
  • Hands-on experience with board bring-up, memory mapping, and debugging hardware/software integration issues.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Preferred qualifications include experience with ARM microprocessor programming and RTOS, familiarity with version control systems and CI/CD tools, exposure to Agile/Scrum development methodologies, knowledge of FPGA/CPLD and its associated languages, and background in Process Control or Distributed Control Systems.
