Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Small Equipment Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our operations department, you will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing our small construction equipment fleet.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance and Repair:
    • Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on small equipment, ensuring they meet safety and operational standards.
    • Diagnose mechanical issues using advanced diagnostic tools and detailed inspections.
    • Replace or repair faulty parts, including hydraulic systems, engines, and electrical units.
  • Operational Readiness:
    • Prepare and ensure equipment is available and in safe working condition for scheduled construction activities.
    • Perform emergency repairs on site to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to all safety guidelines and company policies during maintenance and repair activities.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work environment to prevent accidents and improve efficiency.
  • Record Keeping and Inventory Management:
    • Document all maintenance and repair activities in detail, maintaining accurate records for each piece of equipment.
    • Manage inventory of spare parts and supplies; reorder as necessary to maintain stock levels.
  • Technical Support and Guidance:
    • Provide technical advice to project teams regarding equipment capabilities and limitations.
    • Train junior mechanics and support staff in equipment maintenance and safety protocols.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in repairing and maintaining equipment.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems in small equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Driver License 1 and 2 is preferred.
  • Technical diploma or equivalent in mechanical, heavy equipment maintenance, or related field is preferred.
  • Certification as Equipment Mechanic or NCII is preferred.
