Medical Billing Specialist


This is a remote position where you will work in the revenue cycle management team. Your main responsibility will be to prepare and submit medical claims to insurance companies, both electronic and paper.


Responsibilities:

  • Accurate Claim Submission: Prepare and submit accurate medical claims to insurance companies.
  • Payment Processing: Post payments from insurance companies and patients into the EMR system.
  • Account Reconciliation: Reconcile patient accounts and identify discrepancies or payment issues.
  • Claim Resolution: Follow up on unpaid, denied, or underpaid claims with insurance companies.
  • EOB Review: Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Accounts Receivable Management: Maintain an organized accounts receivable system and generate regular aging reports.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the practice's administrative team to ensure timely revenue collection.
  • Error Correction: Assist with correcting billing errors and resubmitting claims when necessary.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven experience in medical billing, accounts receivable, or claims management.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with Prompt EMR and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, excellent communication skills, and ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and insurance billing guidelines is a plus.
