Epic Medical Biller Position Overview

A key member of our revenue cycle management team, you will ensure seamless financial processes for US healthcare clients. Utilizing expertise in the Athena platform, accurately post medical charges, payments, and journal entries to patient accounts.

Responsibilities:
  • Accurately post medical charges, payments, and journal entries to patient accounts.
  • Cultivate strong working relationships with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients to efficiently process and manage claims.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, along with patient registration data.
  • Prepare and transmit claims using the Athena billing software.
  • Proactively follow up on unpaid claims and research denied claims to ensure maximum reimbursement.
  • Expertly appeal denied claims, navigating complex insurance guidelines.
  • Maintain strict compliance with all HIPAA regulations and industry standards.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience as a Medical Biller, specifically with extensive hands-on experience using the Epic billing software/EMR.
  • Solid understanding of US Healthcare insurance guidelines and medical billing best practices.
  • Proven ability to perform eligibility and benefit verification.
  • Proficiency in obtaining claim statuses and navigating payer portals.
