We are seeking a skilled Writer-Editor to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have exceptional English verbal and written skills, a strong grip on grammar, and the ability to brainstorm with our College Admissions Team's Consultants about the direction of essays. They will also be responsible for giving feedback to students, editing their rough drafts, and researching different topics to strengthen their work.

As a key member of our Editing Team, the Writer-Editor will collaborate with other team members to draft, brainstorm, augment, and review assignments, especially those with urgent deadlines. They will also be responsible for administrative tasks associated with their assignments, including communicating logistical needs with other team members, organizing send-outs of completed assignments to clients, drafting email updates and reminders regarding assigned clients, scheduling review meetings with Consultants and Senior Editors, notetaking for other team members during review meetings, and preparing meeting notes for Consultants regarding the status of assignments.

During the off-season, the Writer-Editor can expect to work on projects that contribute to the growth of our team and organization overall. This may include developing new processes and procedures, creating training materials, and assisting with business development initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Exceptional English verbal and written skills
  • Strong grip on grammar
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Literature, Journalism, Education, or related field
  • Experience working for an education consulting company specializing in college admissions is preferred but not required
  • Portfolio with a minimum of three written samples
  • Ability to edit and write skillfully without the use of AI tools
