Inventory Accountant Job Description

This is a high-level position responsible for managing the financial aspects of an organization's inventory. The Inventory Accountant will work closely with clients to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of inventory levels, costs, and sales.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage cost of goods sold, including procurement, inventory valuation, and cash flow management.
  • Support clients with pricing and margin analysis, as well as ad-hoc reporting and data analysis.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients through regular communication and support.
  • Oversee retail operational accounting, including invoicing, reconciliations, deposits, and accounts receivable.
  • Track and manage reconciliation schedules for prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accrued liabilities/expenses, and deferred revenue.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, as well as day-to-day client/vendor inquiries.
  • Support month-end accounting functions, account reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger.
  • Collaborate with the Controller to prepare financial reports and analysis for client leadership and external partners.
