Cloud Engineering Specialist

Our organization is seeking a skilled Cloud Engineering Specialist to contribute to the development and operation of our cloud-based infrastructure.

  • This individual will be responsible for designing, provisioning, and operating cloud infrastructure that supports large-scale API transactions across multiple environments.
  • The successful candidate will build multi-tenant Kubernetes environments that serve as the backbone for API deployments and internal developer platforms.
  • Key responsibilities include architecting scalable service mesh, ingress, and routing layers to support API versioning, rate limiting, and enable self-service infrastructure provisioning.
  • The specialist will improve time-to-first-API and time-to-production for engineering teams by abstracting infrastructure complexity via platform APIs.
  • Additional responsibilities include implementing zero-trust networking, encryption at rest and in transit, secrets management, and fine-grained IAM policies for platform services.
  • Collaboration with security and compliance teams is essential to embed policy-as-code, audit logging, and monitoring to meet regulatory standards.
  • Infrastructure changes must be governed through GitOps and change management workflows.
  • Finally, the specialist will build and scale telemetry pipelines (metrics, traces, logs) for granular insights into API health, latency, and developer usage.
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience designing and operating production-grade cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes workloads.
  • A deep understanding of cloud-native architectures supporting large-scale, low-latency API services.
  • A strong command of Kubernetes internals, including operators, Helm, RBAC, admission controllers, CNI, CSI, and NetworkPolicies.
  • Proficiency in cloud security practices, identity federation, API gateway controls, TLS management, and key rotation.
  • Proficiency in Python, Go, or a similar language for scripting, tooling, and automation.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with API gateway platforms in production setups.
  • Background in multi-region deployments, failover design, and cross-zone service routing.
  • Familiarity with banking-grade compliance standards, SOC2, PCI DSS, ISO 27001.
