Data modeling is a vital component in our organization's growth and success. We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to lead the transformation layer (dbt) and create clean, reliable, and extensible data models that power business reporting and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and update data models using best practices like testing and data diff.
  • Add metadata (schema, descriptions) and data tests to models.
  • Leverage reusable dbt macros and packages to ensure scalable and DRY transformations.
  • Improve speed to build tables by using incremental models.

We're looking for someone with 2+ years of experience in production-level data modeling, strong SQL skills, and a solid understanding of Git. Knowledge of visualization tooling, JSON, and CSV is also a plus.

In this role, you'll be responsible for proactively monitoring data pipelines and anomalies using tools like Monte Carlo. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to triage data quality issues before they impact stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of data modeling at production level.
  • 3+ years SQL (MySQL or similar).
  • 1 year of dbt.
  • Solid understanding of Git (commit, branch, merge).
  • 2 years of visualization tooling (Looker preferred).
