Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to design, build and maintain our data infrastructure. This is a critical role that requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient data processing, storage and accessibility.


The successful candidate will have strong proficiency in Python for data processing and automation, as well as experience working with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS.

They will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining scalable data pipelines using AWS services like S3, Glue, Lambda and RDS. Additionally, they will build robust ETL processes to ingest, transform and store data efficiently.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AWS services such as Glue, S3, Lambda and RDS, and a strong understanding of ETL/ELT best practices.

They will also work closely with business stakeholders to ensure high-quality data through validation, monitoring and governance best practices.

The selected individual will be part of an agile environment and will contribute to the development of automated tools and workflows using scripting languages like Python, SQL and Bash.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Data Infrastructure Design: Develop and implement data architecture plans to support analytics, reporting and business intelligence.
  • Pipeline Development: Build and maintain scalable data pipelines using AWS services.
  • ETL Process Development: Create and optimize ETL processes for data ingestion, transformation and storage.
  • Database Optimization: Manage and optimize relational databases to meet business requirements.
  • Automation: Develop scripts and automate tools to streamline data workflows.
  • Data Accessibility: Ensure data is accessible and user-friendly for business users.
  • DevOps Practices: Implement version control, testing and deployment best practices.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data engineering, preferably with AWS.
  • Strong knowledge of Python programming language and data processing frameworks.
  • Experience with AWS services such as Glue, S3, Lambda and RDS.
  • Understanding of ETL/ELT best practices and experience building data pipelines.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau or Metabase.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools for data infrastructure automation.
Desirable Skills:
  • Familiarity with machine learning technologies.
  • Experience working in agile environments.
  • Knowledge of continuous integration and delivery for data workflows.
