The role of a Senior Accountant, Fixed Asset requires someone who is responsible for advancing the organization's financial sustainability by effectively managing fixed assets. This involves participating in capital budget planning, providing regular updates on capital project status, and assigning project numbers to approved projects.

Furthermore, this position entails monitoring the acquisition, capitalization, and disposal of fixed assets, performing fixed asset closing procedures within enterprise systems, preparing quarterly asset impairment reviews, conducting annual physical inventory and tagging of capital assets, and reviewing fixed asset narratives and policies.

This professional will be expected to conduct analysis, design, evaluation, modification, testing, and implementation of enterprise-wide systems across functional areas, coordinate closely with other departments on work requiring complimentary efforts, and formulate and recommend improvements for fixed asset systems, procedures, and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Capital Expenditure Management:

    • Analyze and provide insights on capital project status and forecasts.

    • Assign unique identifiers to approved projects.

    • Publish monthly capital expenditure forecasts to relevant stakeholders.

    • Maintain and update the list of funded approved projects.

    • Ensure secure storage and management of project documents.

  • Fixed Asset Management:

    • Oversee the lifecycle of fixed assets from acquisition to disposal.

    • Execute fixed asset closing procedures within designated systems.

    • Conduct periodic reviews to assess the impairment of fixed assets.

    • Perform annual physical inventory and tagging of capital assets.

    • Evaluate and review fixed asset narratives and policies.

  • Enterprise Systems & Coordination:

    • Design, develop, and implement enterprise-wide systems across functional areas.

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on initiatives requiring joint effort.

    • Suggest and implement improvements to fixed asset systems, procedures, and internal controls.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or Finance.

  • Certification: Professional certification in accounting (e.g., CPA) is an advantage.

  • Experience:

    • A minimum of three years of experience in Accounting or Finance.

    • A minimum of one year of experience in fixed asset management.
