Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing project costs, designing electrical systems, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Key responsibilities include:

  • Electrical System Design:
    • Develop comprehensive electrical schematics and layouts for various projects.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design solutions meet project requirements, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Technical Analysis:
    • Conduct thorough technical analyses to guarantee that designs are efficient, cost-effective, and compliant with established standards.
  • Cost Estimation:
    • Prepare precise cost estimates for mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
    • Generate Bills of Quantity (BOQ) and BOM based on tender drawings, ensuring complete coverage of all project aspects.
  • Site Inspections:
    • Carry out site inspections to evaluate electrical needs and ensure installations adhere to safety standards.
  • Contract Management:
    • Review and negotiate contracts to ensure compliance with project specifications and company policies.
    • Monitor contractual commitments and resolve any disputes or changes in scope.
  • Project Budget Monitoring:
    • Track project progress, ensuring adherence to performance, budgets, and schedules related to Electrical and Auxiliary.
    • Closely collaborate with project management teams and design teams to ensure the project remains within budget based on approved BOQ and BOM.
  • Value Engineering:
    • Implement value engineering initiatives to optimize project costs while maintaining quality and performance.
  • Documentation:
    • Guarantee proper maintenance and filing of design documentation, including drawings and calculations.
    • Maintain detailed records of design changes, testing results, and quality assessments for transparency and traceability.
  • Compliance:
    • Ensure all work adheres to relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and client's policies/procedures.
    • Verify designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Reporting:
    • Prepare and submit regular project reports to management and key stakeholders.
    • Provide insights and recommendations based on cost analysis and project budget performance.
    • Evaluate suppliers and contractors.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify potential budget risks and implement mitigation strategies to prevent cost overruns.
  • Problem Solving:
    • Identify and resolve design/installation issues and challenges.
    • Investigate design failures/defects in installation, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate future issues.
  • Client Communication:
    • Effectively communicate with clients, subcontractors, and other teams to ensure project requirements are met.
    • Present design concepts and updates to clients and sales team.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Work closely with design, engineering, and project management teams to ensure seamless project execution.
    • Coordinate with procurement for materials and services, ensuring cost efficiency and quality standards.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and advancements to enhance design processes and outcomes.
