Job Overview

This position is a remote opportunity to manage day-to-day bookkeeping in Xero: reconcile accounts, process invoices, manage expenses, and handle general ledger entries.

The successful candidate will use Dext to capture, code, and file supplier receipts and invoices; ensure digital documents are organized and audit-ready.

  • Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing day-to-day bookkeeping in Xero
  • Using Dext to capture, code, and file supplier receipts and invoices
  • Processing and tracking accounts payable and receivable
  • Preparing monthly management reports: P&L, cash-flow statements, project cost summaries
  • Collaborating with the team to support accurate job costing: allocating materials, labour, and overhead to relevant projects
  • Reconciling bank and credit card statements regularly
  • Assisting with BAS preparation and liaising with external accountants for GST and tax matters
  • Providing ad-hoc admin support: preparing reports, compiling project documents, and assisting with marketing efforts

Requirements:

  • Proven experience (2+ years) in bookkeeping using Xero
  • Proficiency with Dext (or similar receipt-capturing tools)
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping workflows: invoicing, reconciliation, tracking expenses, and job costing
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail in both financial and admin tasks
  • Comfortable working in a small, collaborative team where adaptability is key
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
