Medical Documentation Specialist

The client is a leading healthcare organization that specializes in physical therapy and orthopedics. They combine hands-on treatment with individualized exercise programs to help patients recover from injuries, manage pain, and return to active lifestyles.

The Medical Documentation Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the clinicians by providing real-time scribing and accurate EHR entries. This will enable them to focus on hands-on patient care while ensuring records are complete, compliant, and billing-ready.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately document patient encounters directly into the EHR during or immediately after visits.
  • Capture relevant history, objective findings, assessments, treatment plans, and outcomes in clear, structured notes.
  • Use clinic templates and standards to ensure notes are billable, compliant, and ready for provider sign-off.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a medical scribe, medical virtual assistant, or healthcare documentation specialist.
  • Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Typing speed of at least 45 WPM with high accuracy.
  • Working knowledge of basic medical terminology (healthcare/clinical context).
  • Proficiency with EHR documentation and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), with strict adherence to HIPAA.
