Director of Finance Opportunity

The Director of Finance is a strategic and operational leader who will drive the finance function forward, delivering accurate and insightful financial reports that inform key business decisions. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and business acumen.

As a critical member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing scalable financial systems, streamlining processes, and driving cost savings initiatives. Your expertise in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting will enable you to make informed decisions that support the company's growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Objectives:

  • Deliver Accurate Financial Reporting: Own and execute a standardized monthly close process to deliver accurate financial statements by the 20th calendar day of the following month.
  • Maintain Cash Flow Strategy: Manage a weekly-updated, 12-month rolling cash forecast to ensure liquidity and financial stability.
  • Lead Forecasting and Budgeting: Plan and lead the annual budgeting and forecasting cycle, align department budgets with growth targets, and finalize all plans by December 1.
  • Build Scalable Financial Systems: Document core finance workflows and implement streamlined systems for expense approvals, reimbursements, travel booking, and company card usage.

Regular Work Activities:

  • Accounts Receivable and Payable Management: Ensure accurate invoicing, collections, and payments to maintain cash flow.
  • Cash Management Operations: Monitor daily cash positions, maintain liquidity, and oversee use of credit float strategies.
  • Compliance and Audit Readiness: Ensure GAAP compliance, manage internal controls, and lead external audit preparation.
  • Payroll and Benefits Administration: Oversee payroll and reimbursements for accuracy, timeliness, and legal compliance.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely sales tax filings and payroll tax submissions.
  • Systems and Software Management: Optimize financial tools to streamline workflows and reduce manual work.
  • Inventory and COGS Management: Reconcile inventory regularly and validate COGS entries in partnership with operations.
  • Strategic Insights and Decision Support: Provide financial analysis to support key business decisions and capital planning.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with teams across the business to assess financial impact and support growth initiatives.
  • Financial Dashboard & KPI Maintenance: Maintain dashboards and scorecards to ensure clear visibility into performance.
  • Team Development and Delegation: Identify opportunities to delegate transactional tasks and support the development of future finance capabilities as the department grows.
