About the Role

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is seeking a highly motivated Technical Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our communications team, you will play a vital role in supporting the development and distribution of high-quality press releases that effectively communicate the Secretary's objectives and initiatives.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Drafting and editing press releases to ensure clarity, accuracy, and style compliance.
  • Working closely with functional groups to develop press releases that reflect their activities and achievements.
  • Providing feedback and guidance to functional groups on press release best practices.
  • Collaborating with the DTI Communications Group to develop efficient press release development processes.
  • Tracking press release metrics and providing insights for improvement.
  • Maintaining accurate records of press release activities and status.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in communications, public relations, or media relations, preferably within a government or large organizational setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to write and edit high-quality press releases and other communication materials.
  • Strong understanding of media relations and press release distribution strategies.
