We are seeking a highly skilled Accountant to join our team.

  • This is a senior accounting role that involves ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations, as well as preparing and filing tax returns and reports.

The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in accounting, a minimum of 3 years of experience in working within a chartered accountants practice, and excellent skills in Excel and proficiency in all other MS Office products.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Prepare financial statements, tax returns, and reports for clients.
  2. Prepare indirect tax returns (GST, PAYE, FBT) for clients.
  3. Prepare management accounts for clients on a periodic basis.
  4. Identify and resolve accounting issues and discrepancies.
  5. Ensure jobs are completed to a high quality, meeting technical standards and deadlines within budget.
  6. Prepare and create budgets, cashflows and working capital forecasts.
  7. Analyse and interpret financial data and provide insights and recommendations.
  8. Manage own workflow to ensure effective and efficient delivery and manage challenges appropriately.
  9. Build and maintain strong relationships with the team and with clients and other stakeholders.
  10. Research and advise on accounting standards, tax laws, and regulations as required to undertake compliance role.
Requirements
  1. Tertiary qualification in accounting essential.
  2. Minimum 3 years of experience in working within a chartered accountants practice, ideally within the New Zealand context.
  3. Excellent skills in Excel and proficiency in all other MS Office products.
  4. Proficient in using Xero.
  5. Experience using CCH iFirm and Asana is useful but not required.
