Job Description

Maersk, a global leader in integrated logistics, seeks an experienced professional to oversee customs operations. This role involves coordinating client service delivery, ensuring compliance with local customs regulations, and managing financial activities related to customs house brokerage.

The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of relevant work experience, including experience as a people manager, and be knowledgeable about customs systems and updated local customs rulings. Excellent stakeholder management, strong people management, and analytical thinking are essential skills for this position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and ensure client service delivery, focusing on compliance with local customs regulations through personal execution or team delegation.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of Import & Export declarations, Customs clearance, and other trade compliance concerns, including E-TRACC.
  • Manage financial activities related to customs house brokerage (CHB).
  • Exceed customer needs while adhering to compliance controls.
  • Monitor workload, identify risks, and report to the Head of Customs.
  • Analyze and present data reports to various stakeholders.
  • Review and update operating manuals regularly.
  • Maintain compliance with standards and quality assurance procedures, meeting HMRC/statutory requirements.
  • Drive productivity through process improvements.
  • SUPPORT audits and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Develop customs products and participate in growth initiatives.
  • Coordinate recruitment and manage team performance.
  • FACILITATE onboarding and introduce customers and vendors to products and systems.
  • Ensure strict adherence to processes for executing CX (customer experience) products.
  • PROACTIVELY address and resolve customer and vendor support needs.
  • OPTIMIZE cost-to-serve while ensuring timely delivery of the CHB product.
  • Provide expert advice on customs and regulatory policies impacting customers, vendors, and the organization.
  • Contribute to creating new processes and refining existing ones.
  • Shape the business and product development agenda for regional and area products.
  • DEVELOP value propositions, gather customer insights, and stay informed about market trends.
  • DRIVE systems improvement and automation efforts.
