Key Roles and Responsibilities

As a Senior Orchestration Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, building, and managing the complete orchestration framework for all data pipelines using Google Cloud Composer. This role requires expertise in authoring complex DAGs in Python, implementing sophisticated dependency management, triggers, and scheduling logic.

  • Design, build, and manage the orchestration framework for all data pipelines.
  • Author complex, dynamic, and maintainable DAGs in Python.
  • Serve as the team's subject matter expert on all DAG Authoring/Best Practices.
  • Develop a comprehensive monitoring and alerting strategy for all orchestrated pipelines.
  • Establish and enforce CI/CD processes for deploying and testing DAGs.

This position requires strong knowledge of cloud-based technologies, specifically Google Cloud Composer and Apache Airflow. You will work closely with ingestion and transformation engineers to understand pipeline dependencies and integrate their workflows into the master orchestration plan.

Additionally, this role involves owning the operational health of the data platform, managing retries, handling failures, and communicating pipeline status to stakeholders.
