Software Engineer - Solutions Engineering

A global team is seeking a passionate developer to lead and inspire regional software engineering teams in fulfilling an initiative to revolutionize open source application and infrastructure operations.

The goal is to enable true model-driven operations via next-generation infrastructure-as-code, allowing companies to run efficient bare-metal operations for high-performance computing, private cloud, data lakes, AI/ML, and analytics.

The team works closely with the managed infrastructure operations team, which runs private OpenStack clouds and Kubernetes clusters for customers worldwide. This enables improvement of infra-as-code products based on real experience, mirroring that of users and customers.

Most work involves pure software development focused on enabling true DevOps workflows, striving for high quality in design, documentation, tests, and performance as enhancements are made to operations code packages and the platform to ensure it is robust and best performing for driving infrastructure.

  • Design and deliver open source software operations code in Python and Golang.
  • Work with the entire Linux stack, from kernel to networking to virtualization and containers.
  • Shape high-quality open source monitoring and alerting infrastructure.
  • Rethink open source operations for customers and the community.
  • Demonstrate sound engineering design and testing principles in code.
  • Follow agile software development practices.
  • Cultivate a healthy, collaborative engineering culture aligned with company values.
