Senior Financial Manager Job Summary

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Financial Manager to lead our financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage the month-end close process, preparing comprehensive financial reports and analyzing variances.
  • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and DCAA regulations, maintaining audit-ready records and supporting internal audits.
  • Collaborate with project managers and accountants on project status reviews, margin analysis, and billing support.
  • Oversee system maintenance, including report development, optimization, and accuracy of General Ledger and Project Ledger.
  • Review bi-weekly payroll for accuracy, resolving complex issues and approving monthly reconciliation and journals.
  • Ensure timely and accurate 401(k) contributions and provide financial reports for loan covenant purposes and government compliance reviews.
  • Support complex proposals, billing rate calculations, and project change orders.
  • Supervise annual indirect cost calculation and Caltrans reporting package preparation.
  • Manage annual insurance renewals and allocate costs within the General Ledger.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, minimum 7 years of experience at Controller level, in-depth knowledge of GAAP and project accounting, and strong Excel skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience as a Controller or similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP and project accounting principles.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software.
