A medical assistant plays a vital role in the healthcare team, providing exceptional patient care and administrative support. As a front desk coordinator, you will be responsible for managing patient flow, scheduling appointments, and handling telephone inquiries.
Key Responsibilities- Support physicians with patient care, handling clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks.
- Provide excellent customer service, communicating effectively with patients, administration, and other department personnel.
- Flex between front desk and clinical areas as needed to meet daily practice needs.
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent; Medical assistant diploma or certification.
- Experience: Two years of health care experience; experience in applicable practice preferred.
- Knowledge: Basic medical terminology, legal and ethical considerations related to patient information, organization policies, and procedures.
- Skills: Good communication, attention to detail, computer literacy, multi-line phone systems proficiency, and ability to interact with various personnel.
- Abilities: Elicit appropriate information, calm irate callers, multi-task, be punctual, learn and retain patient care procedures, plan and prioritize tasks, and show compassion.
