Nurse Practitioner- Huntingdon Valley Cardiology

Job Description

Purpose of Job: To perform, under the responsibility and management of the supervising physician, diagnostic, therapeutic, and interventional tasks to support the physician's services. This includes gathering data for diagnosis and therapy planning, and serving as a patient's advocate within the medical care system, acting as confidant, advisor, and liaison between patients and physicians.

Essential Functions:

• Provide care to cardiac patients and assist cardiologists during outpatient visits, hospital rounds, and in the device clinic.
• Diagnose and treat complex medical problems and urgent/emergent conditions.
• Order, collect, and interpret laboratory and diagnostic studies.
• Prescribe medications or devices.
• Perform other clinical procedures/duties as approved.

Job Qualifications

Qualifications:

For Nurse Practitioner:

• Master of Science in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Current Pennsylvania licensure as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) and Registered Nurse (RN).
• Prescriptive authority and Board Certification or eligibility as NP.
• CPR and ACLS certification.

For Physician Assistant:

• Bachelor of Science degree in a physical science from an accredited institution.
• Current Pennsylvania licensure as a Physician Assistant.
• Prescriptive authority (to be obtained within 30 days for new hires).
• NCCPA certification.
• CPR and ACLS certification.
• Preferred: Two years of recent experience in cardiology.

• Ability to work collaboratively, prioritize, manage time effectively, and adapt to a dynamic work environment.
• Strong health assessment and clinical skills.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA standards.
• High accuracy and attention to detail.

Computer Skills:

• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Experience with computer systems and applications.
• Some weekend shifts required.
