Senior Associate - Campaign Risk Management Role

We are seeking a seasoned campaigner with experience navigating risks, particularly in the context of climate change, anti-democracy, and dis/misinformation.

This role is part of our Global Risk Team, working closely with our Risk Manager and Risk Associate. You will engage with campaigns at various stages to provide a risk management perspective, guiding internal teams and partners on compliance and safety risks.

You will assist in determining the escalation path for high-risk activities, collaborating with the Risk Manager and Executive teams. Additionally, you will support teams in identifying, assessing, and monitoring risks during planning and implementation, helping address risk issues and developing response plans.

This is a new position with opportunities to shape the role as Meliore expands its risk management operations. The successful candidate will report to the Risk Manager, who reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide risk management guidance throughout campaign design and delivery phases.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and partners on campaign materials and direction, focusing on compliance and safety risks.
  • Determine escalation paths for high-risk activities, ensuring timely and effective decision-making.
  • Support risk identification, assessment, and monitoring for projects during planning and implementation.
  • Assist in addressing risk issues, analyzing and rating risks, assessing mitigation activities, and developing response plans.
  • Review policies and procedures to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Operationalize and support governance processes related to managing campaign risks.
  • Contribute to country risk profiles when evaluating campaign feasibility and assist legal in conducting risk assessments.
  • Promote a culture of risk awareness and accountability through training, education, and consultative support.

Your Ideal Qualifications:

  • Experience in campaigns and risk management, preferably in an international organization or one with a global footprint.
  • Strong cross-cultural experience and communication skills.
  • Able to work effectively in an asynchronous environment.
  • Familiarity with risk management methodologies and ability to adapt these skills to suit the organization.
  • Strong facilitation skills, able to hold complex conversations and manage disagreements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to build relationships across all levels and communicate effectively with interpersonal relationships within the network and Risk team.
  • Fluency in English, our working language; additional languages are an asset.
  • A genuine interest in addressing climate change.
  • A disposition to work collaboratively with colleagues in a high-trust global community of peers.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment, working across time zones using tools like Zoom, Slack, and email (Google Workspace).
