Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our data engineering initiatives. This role involves designing and building cloud-based data pipelines and data warehousing solutions using GCP, Python, Fast API & Pydantic.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in delivering at a Senior Data Engineer level in an enterprise environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and Build Cloud-Based Data Pipelines: Utilize GCP, Python, Fast API & Pydantic to design and build efficient data pipelines.
  • Solution Development and Maintenance: Develop and maintain cloud-based data warehousing solutions using GCP.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Delivery Architect (team lead) to ensure project execution and timely delivery.
  • User Feedback and Solutions: Collect feedback from users and develop solutions to meet their needs.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Experience Delivering at a Senior Level: Proven track record of delivering at a Senior Data Engineer level in an enterprise environment.
  • Agile Environment Experience: Practical experience delivering in an agile environment.
  • Deep Understanding of Code: Deep understanding of code, with experience developing in Python and utilizing SQL.
  • Snowflake Platforms: Production experience of Snowflake platforms.
  • ELT/ETL Pipelines: Deep understanding of ELT/ETL pipelines and toolchains.
  • Data Stores: Deep understanding of Relational and Document data stores.
  • Modern Web Services: Deep understanding of how modern web services are built.
  • Testing Methodologies: Deep understanding of modern testing methodologies, tools and practices.
  • Version Control Tools: Deep understanding of versioning control tools including Git.
  • Cloud Platforms: Understanding of tools such as AWS serverless compute, Apigee, CloudRun and containerisation.
  • Security and Performance: Understanding of security and performance considerations.
  • Architectural Patterns: Understanding of architectural and design patterns in one or more of AWS/GCP/Azure.
  • Analytical and Multitasking Skills: Excellent analytical and multitasking skills.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Empathy and People Skills: Empathy and people skills.
