At our organization, we are looking for a skilled and creative professional to join our team as a Social Media Content Creator. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to produce engaging, news-focused short-form videos and written content across various social media platforms.

Job Description:

As a key member of our digital media team, you will be responsible for creating compelling and informative content that resonates with our online audience. This includes developing and implementing a content strategy that showcases your creativity, knowledge, and passion for current affairs.

  • Develop and produce high-quality, engaging content for our social media channels, including short news recaps, stitched videos, explainers, fact-checks, and commentary.
  • Research trending topics and conduct thorough fact-checking to ensure accuracy and credibility in all content created.
  • Collaborate with our editorial team to align content with our organization's tone and mission.
  • Stay up-to-date with social media trends and viral content formats to ensure our content remains relevant and competitive.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong background in mass communications, journalism, or media studies is preferred.
  • Previous experience in content creation, social media management, or digital journalism is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms, their audiences, and content trends (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Facebook).
  • Proficiency in video editing and design software (Capcut, Canva, or equivalent)
  • Ability to research and analyze news and factual information, with strong skills in fact-checking and distilling insights into clear, audience-friendly stories.
  • Comfortable crafting concise, impactful narratives that bring news and facts to life in social-first video formats.
  • Keen sense of storytelling, pacing, and visual composition with interest in current affairs, news, and social issues.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
