This role involves nurturing relationships between Compassion and local churches, fostering mutual respect, trust, and service.
The primary responsibility is to strengthen local ownership, capacity, and resources of church partners to minister to children and youth.
The facilitator will work independently on moderately complex projects, coaching other facilitators as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Develops awareness about children's needs, prioritizing child protection and reporting concerns of abuse or neglect.
- Demonstrates a commitment to serve, respect, and empower the church, its leadership, and community.
- Strengthens church ownership and capacity through developmental approaches.
- Facilitates reflection and planning with church partners to grow in capacity and maturity.
- Supports church strategies to engage parents, caregivers, children, and youth, mobilizing local resources for their benefit.
- Works with pastors and church staff to identify capacity development needs, providing expertise where necessary.
- Supports the church throughout all phases of the Program Cycle: Needs Assessment, Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation.
- Coordinates support to each church partner, tailoring facilitation plans to individual needs.
- Oversees cluster operations, fostering relationships and collaboration among churches.
- Facilitates church partner adoption of child protection standards and manages incident reporting.
- Supports program and partnership management objectives, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
- Utilizes facilitation practices to identify needs and apply solutions, providing expert advice when required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, or related fields.
- Resident of Masbate or Sorsogon, or nearby provinces, with strong local community ties.
- Minimum 5 years in community development or partnership management.
- Experience in program cycle management for WASH, Education, and Livelihood projects.
- Proficient in report writing and impact assessment.
- Experience in financial management, facilitation, and liaising.
- Ability to develop networks and mobilize resources.
- Active member of a local church, passionate about serving children and churches.
- Church leadership or administrative experience is an advantage.
