Clinical Data Specialist Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Registered Nurse with strong clinical judgment to join our team.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Data Validation & Review
    • Manually review patient records post-migration to ensure accuracy and completeness.
    • Compare data fields in the new EHR against the legacy source, identifying discrepancies.
  • Quality Assurance
    • Conduct spot checks on high-complexity patient charts, focusing on critical data elements that may affect patient safety.
    • Work with team leads or a nurse manager to resolve exceptions from the automated migration process.
  • Clinical Judgment & Escalation
    • Identify clinically significant discrepancies and escalate these issues to stakeholders.
    • Provide input on clinical workflows and possible improvements in data mapping.
  • Documentation & Reporting
    • Maintain accurate validation logs, noting all changes or corrections made during the review process.
    • Generate reports summarizing validation progress, error rates, and systemic issues discovered.
    • Collaborate with data migration specialists, IT teams, and physicians to clarify data mapping rules and resolve complex cases.
  • Adherence to Compliance & Confidentiality
    • Uphold HIPAA and GDPR regulations when handling patient data.
    • Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient information throughout the migration and validation process.

Requirements:
  1. Education & Licensure
    • Must be a Registered Nurse with a valid license to practice.
    • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent is preferred.
  2. Experience
    • 1–2+ years of clinical nursing experience (hospital, clinic, or other healthcare setting).
    • Previous healthcare BPO or clinical data experience is highly beneficial.
    • Familiarity with EHR/EMR systems is a plus.
  3. Technical Skills
    • Comfortable using Microsoft Office or Google Workspace to track validation tasks.
    • Knowledge of medical coding (ICD-10, CPT, SNOMED) and medical terminology.
    • Ability to learn new software quickly and apply clinical expertise in a technical environment.
  4. Soft Skills
    • Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to verifying data accuracy.
    • Communication: Strong written and verbal skills in English; able to effectively collaborate with remote teams.
    • Problem-Solving: Capable of investigating discrepancies and proposing solutions.
    • Time Management: Able to handle multiple validation tasks and meet project deadlines.
    • Stable internet connection and home-office setup for remote work.
    • Ability to work night shifts.
