Data Engineering Role

Our organization is seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to lead the design, development, and maintenance of our cloud-based data infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS). This position requires strong expertise in cloud-based data engineering, automation, and DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop scalable data pipelines using AWS services such as S3, Glue, Lambda, and RDS.
  • Build robust Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to ingest, transform, and store data efficiently.
  • Manage and optimize relational databases to support business needs.
  • Ensure high-quality data through validation, monitoring, and governance best practices.
  • Develop scripts and automation tools using Python, SQL, and Bash to streamline data processes and workflows.
  • Support business users by ensuring data is structured and accessible in reporting tools like Tableau or Metabase.
  • Implement best practices for version control, testing, and deployment of data pipelines using Terraform and GitHub Actions.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in data engineering, working with cloud-based data platforms.
  • Strong proficiency in Python for data processing and automation.
  • Experience with SQL and database management.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services such as Glue, S3, Lambda, and RDS.
  • Understanding of ETL/ELT best practices and experience building data pipelines.
Preferred Skills:
  • Familiarity with machine learning technologies such as Sagemaker.
  • Experience working in Agile environments and familiarity with tools like Jira and Confluence.
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) for data workflows and version control using Git.
