The Market and Valuations Risk Management team is responsible for identifying, assessing, and managing market risks across the Corporate & Investment Bank. This role focuses on independent valuation of balance sheet positions and conformance to prevailing market levels.
We are looking for a highly organized and analytical professional to join our team as a Valuations Specialist Associate. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing transactions, identifying potential off-market exceptions, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure accurate valuations.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Identifying and escalating potential off-market exceptions to Front Office and other key functions
- Ensuring key economic terms of exotic trades are accurately represented in trade booking securities
- Highlighting control gaps in trading and booking practices with 1st line of defence stakeholders
- Regularly reviewing utilized methodologies amidst dynamic market environments
- Participating in change initiatives and implementations
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Math, Statistics, Accountancy, Financial Engineering, Finance or equivalent
- Solid knowledge of financial markets products (Credit, Rates, FX, Equities, and Derivatives)
- Strong control mindset and analytical problem-solving skills
- Highly organized and able to work independently and as part of a team
- Intrinsic motivation and ability to critically think and navigate problems
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a multi-cultural setting
