Automated Testing Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Automated Testing Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in software testing and automation, with a strong understanding of testing methodologies and tools.

This role is responsible for developing and executing automated test scripts to ensure the quality and reliability of software products. The engineer will work closely with the engineering team to deliver software testing best practices and collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and identify test scenarios.

The successful candidate will design and implement test plans, test cases, and test suites to validate software functionality, utilizing defect tracking and management tools such as JIRA or Bugzilla to report and track issues. They will also participate in CI/CD pipelines, integrating testing suites to support continuous delivery and conduct API testing using tools like Karate to verify backend functionalities.

Maintaining and updating automated test scripts to adapt to changes in software features is also an essential part of this role, as well as analyzing test results and providing feedback to stakeholders, ensuring timely resolution of issues. Contributing to improving testing processes and implementing best practices is also expected.

Responsibilities include performing regression, smoke, and exploratory testing across different environments and browsers, supporting UAT and production release cycles, ensuring seamless deployment and minimal defects, documenting test evidence, and maintaining traceability to requirements.

Requirements
  • Proven experience as a QA Automation Engineer or similar role, demonstrating proficiency in automation testing
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices
  • Experience in test plan development, test case creation, execution, and reporting
  • Familiarity with defect tracking and management tools such as JIRA or Bugzilla
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities to prioritize tasks effectively
  • ISTQB or similar certification is a plus, showcasing a commitment to quality assurance standards
  • Familiarity with automation scripting using Cypress and Selenium, with proven ability to develop and maintain automated test scripts
  • Experience with API testing using tools like Karate is an advantage
  • Proficient in using Cypress and WebdriverIO for front-end and end-to-end test automation
  • Hands-on experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, and Java-based frameworks
  • Experience working in Agile environments, actively participating in sprint planning, grooming, and retrospectives
  • Skilled in using GitLab and Jenkins for CI/CD integration
  • Solid background in testing both web and mobile applications (Android and iOS)
