Job Summary

We are seeking an exceptional Virtual Legal Assistant to provide administrative and client communication support in our Criminal Defense and Litigation practice.

The ideal candidate is proactive, empathetic, and comfortable handling sensitive and confidential legal matters. Strong communication skills and professionalism are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide timely reminders to clients before court appearances, ensuring they are informed and prepared.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between attorneys and clients, facilitating clear and efficient communication.
  • Draft and distribute client correspondence, maintaining regular touchpoints and updating clients on case progress.
  • Explain complex case processes and legal updates in a clear and concise manner, ensuring clients understand their situations.
  • Manage appointments, calendars, and court dates with precision, guaranteeing deadlines are met and milestones are achieved.
  • Update and maintain accurate records using Practice Panther, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
  • Follow up on billing, retainer fees, and accounts receivable with clients, resolving any issues promptly and professionally.
  • Handle conflict notifications and ensure accurate records of court appearances, upholding the highest level of integrity and confidentiality.
Requirements
  • Prior experience as a legal assistant or paralegal in a law firm is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills are essential.
  • Proficiency with phone systems, particularly RingCentral, is beneficial.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask are crucial.
  • Comfortable using client management systems, such as Practice Panther, and adapting to new technologies.
  • Professionalism, empathy, and the ability to handle sensitive client interactions are vital qualities for success in this role.
