Key Accounting Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled accounting professional to maintain key financial records. The successful candidate will be responsible for recording transactions and posting them to various accounts, requiring strong time management and organisational skills.

The role involves a range of tasks including coding & bank reconciliation for weekly and monthly bookkeeping clients in Xero, prepayments/Accruals/Fixed asset coding & reconciliations, processing payroll through Xero, processing supplier invoices in Hubdoc, BAS / IAS preparation, processing of Payroll - adding new staff, bonuses, benefits, etc., End-of-year payroll reporting, Reconciliations / returns for BAS at end of tax year (30 June), Worker Compensation estimates and actuals declarations, Review of management accounts pack from Xero each month, Potential growth into processing individual Australian tax returns, Raising potential risks for clients and the business based on data and observations from checks performed and providing recommendations to mitigate impacts.

Requirements
  • Graduate of Finance and or Accounting
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) OR Chartered Accountant (CA) is preferred
Benefits

  • General AU Accounting/Bookkeeping experience with solid background
  • 3 years or more of experience in Australian accounts
  • Australian Taxation and Compliance knowledge is advantageous
  • Hands-on experience with accounting tools such as Xero and Hubdoc
  • Experience in using Karbon is not necessary, but preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to learn new systems and tools as needed
  • Ensures quality of work being delivered without being supervised
  • Demonstrated creative and critical thinking skills
  • Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously
