Procurement Specialist Job Description

The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for maintaining a meaningful liaison with vendors to ensure the constant procurement of supplies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining appropriate stock levels across all product lines by working closely with the Purchasing Manager.
  • Purchasing materials, services, supplies, and equipment for Production, Engineering, and required kits.
  • Negotiating favorable pricing, lead times, and terms for all materials/services and recording cost savings.
  • Tracking quotations, PO acknowledgments, tracking numbers, and shipping schedules.
  • Scheduling logistics for all products ordered, and requesting push-out/expedite if needed.
Responsibilities (continued)
  • Collaborating with production managers to determine material needs for projects.
  • Evaluating and recommending suitable vendors for supply procurement.
  • Ensuring timely delivery of materials to the manufacturing unit.
  • Monitoring and reporting on vendor performance and compliance with agreements.
