Accountant Job Responsibilities

The Home-Based Accountant will be responsible for:

  • Managing Accounts Payable and Receivable, including recording and processing invoices and payments.
  • Preparing and posting General Ledger Entries, including daily journal entries.
  • Assisting in the preparation of Financial Statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Reconciling monthly bank statements with company records to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
  • Providing administrative support to the accounting department, including filing, data entry, and responding to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, and strong working knowledge of tax laws and GAAP are also required for this role.
