The role of a Senior Accountant involves overseeing the work of junior accountants, ensuring the accuracy and quality of financial statements, VAT returns, corporate tax returns, and other accounting deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:- Review and ensure the accuracy of financial statements and accounting deliverables.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of UK corporate tax returns, VAT returns, and P11Ds.
- Supervise and review UK payroll processes to ensure HMRC compliance.
- Assist in preparing statutory accounts for UK limited companies in accordance with UK accounting standards.
- Work closely with junior bookkeepers, providing guidance and constructive feedback while ensuring deadlines are met.
- Experience working in a UK accounting firm, with a strong understanding of UK accounting standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Proven ability to review junior's work, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- In-depth knowledge of UK corporate tax, VAT, P11Ds, and statutory accounts up until submission.
- Extensive experience managing UK payroll and HMRC compliance.
- Leadership and team delegation skills, with experience in supervising and mentoring accounting teams.
Preferred qualifications include ACCA or equivalent certification.
