IT Audit Supervisor Job Description

This is an exceptional opportunity to partner with stakeholders to influence how we provide services, drive excellence and innovation in the Finance organization.

We are seeking an IT Audit Supervisor to join the Internal Audit function. This role plays an integral part in the execution of IT audits, Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) testing and company-wide digital transformation initiatives.

  • The IT Audit Supervisor will conduct risk-based information technology, operational technology, cybersecurity, and system development and conversion audits in accordance with the internal audit plan and Institute of Internal Audit (IIA) auditing standards.
  • This includes planning, risk assessment, controls identification, stakeholder coordination, fieldwork, data analysis, work paper documentation, reporting, and remediation validation.
  • The successful candidate will have experience at a large, publicly traded, global company, deep technical knowledge, experience auditing diverse technologies, and possess excellent interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

The IT Audit Supervisor will be responsible for:

  1. Conducting risk-based IT audits, including planning, risk assessment, controls identification, and remediation validation.
  2. Leading the planning and execution of SOX IT General Controls (ITGCs) testing, coordinating with the internal audit SOX COE and external auditors to implement efficiencies in testing.
  3. Evaluating and testing SOX IT General Controls, IT Application Controls (ITACs), key reports, and system interfaces to verify accuracy, completeness, and reliability of financial reporting.
  4. Advising process and control owners on the identification, root cause analysis, and remediation of deficiencies, providing practical recommendations to strengthen control design and operational effectiveness.
  5. Maintaining awareness of emerging technology trends such as artificial intelligence (AI), DevOps, and cybersecurity, with the associated risks that impact the organization and proactively collaborating with the IT leadership team as a key advisor.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Management Information Systems preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years' IT audit experience in internal or external audit with a focus on IT governance, risk, and controls in multi-national U.S. public companies.
  • Understanding of IT control frameworks (e.g. COBIT) and strong familiarity with COSO 2013, Sarbanes-Oxley, SSAE 18, and SOC reports.
  • Certification(s) such as Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) preferred.
  • In-depth experience testing SOX IT general controls, IT automated and IT dependent controls, key reports, interfaces, and other IT dependencies required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency supervising audit engagements in IT infrastructure, IT operations, cybersecurity, access management, and related areas required.
